Days:  Wednesday or Friday:  2 hours on a single day.

Description:
The Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce exists to support our members through engaging and educating the Gallatin community an effort to stimulate economic vitality and enhance quality of life.

We serve our 500 member businesses by providing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly events. Additionally, we offer marketing opportunities as well as ways for businesses to connect with each other and the community.

A field study with the Gallatin Chamber will expose students to our 500 member businesses, provide a chance to learn about different types of marketing and social media management, experience event planning and management, as well as daily administrative work related to the Gallatin Chamber's mission.

"The student will assist with event management & planning: registering guests, organizing materials, logging data.

Marketing: helping plan pop-in visits with small gifts and treats for our members, taking photos, sorting requests, checking community event calendar

Basic admin & office duties: Building lists and spreadsheets, filing and sorting membership documents, building membership packets, building newcomer packets

Students working with the Gallatin Chamber should be interested in events, marketing, business development, and/or entrepreneurship. The Gallatin Chamber serves around 500 member businesses of all sizes. A student working the the Gallatin Chamber would have potential opportunities to learn about and connect with many of those.

The Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit (501c6). We are NOT a part of the city or county government. While we do have some interaction with the local government, this would not be the ideal placement for a student interested in learning more about political organizations or government positions.
