Positive Family Strategies Class
Parenting can be challenging for even the best of parents. We could all use little bit of help every now and then. Positive Family Strategies is a class that focuses on different parenting techniques and aims to provide parents with tools while strengthening families. Each course consists of 6 sessions and meets at the Salvation Army once a week on Monday evenings from 6:00pm-7:45pm. Students between the ages of 8-14 years old are encouraged to attend the course with their parent/s. Students and parents will begin and end each session together but will take part in different activities throughout the evening. Course topics include: The Five Love Languages, Communication, Respect, Managing Anger, Leadership, Family Time, Building Healthy Relationships, Character, Discipline, Single Parenting, Technology, Friendships and Supervision, Education, Family Values, and Support/Community Resources.This course is being offered free of charge and childcare is available at no cost. Parents that successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and a gas card.
