To enable Enrolled Nurses working in primary health (urban and rural) to further develop and extend their theoretical knowledge and assessment skills for the early recognition, response to and management of the deteriorating patient

Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the Enrolled Nurse will be able to:

1. Apply a range of rapid assessment frameworks to identify patient deterioration.
2. Identify and describe the significance of altered clinical observations.
3. Indicate the key nursing interventions of deteriorating patients in primary care.
4. Utilise a structured communication framework to articulate accurate and relevant clinical information to the interprofessional team.
