As part of our continuing drive to promote music-making in school, we are offering a number of free taster lessons to students who are not currently learning another musical instrument in school.

The taster lessons being offered this term are Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, and Euphonium.

Taster lessons are designed for students to get a feel for what it is like to have instrumental lessons, and will operate on a trial basis of 5 shared lessons.  If your child wishes to continue lessons after that time, you will need to complete the regular application form for instrumental lessons.  These lessons are delivered as individual 40 minute lessons at a cost of 400,000vnd per lesson (or 575,000vnd for guitar lessons).

The school can provide a school instrument, which can be loaned out to be taken home to practise during the trial.  If demand exceeds supply, a student may borrow an instrument to practise in school during break and lunch.  If your child wishes to continue, they may retain the instrument free of a hire charge for the first term.

If you would like your child to participate in the free trial lessons being offered this term, please fill in the form, stating your instrument preference, and then return to the Music Department by Tuesday 4th September at the latest.  Your child will then be given a time to attend and is expected to take responsibility for being on time, or to let either Ms Jacombs or the instrumental teacher know of any problem that arises.  If your child fails to turn up for 2 consecutive weeks, we reserve the right to offer the lessons to another student.
