McBain Elementary and the Parent Advisory Committee

The mission of the Parent Action Committee is to improve the overall school experience of every child at McBain by providing information, planning and serving at activities, and assisting parents so they can help their students. What kinds of information would help you help your child at home? *

McBain Elementary and the P.A.C. have thought of other ways to build relationships and support parents of all students. Please check the following family engagement topics you would like McBain Elementary to provide at family night. *

Technology tool training for families-Families will learn how to use the different apps and programs used by teachers (Class Dojo, Powerschool/Parent Portal, Schoology, etc).

Classroom Expert Parents-One parent from each classroom would be identified as a "go-to" for new parents who move to the district. These veteran parents will show the new parents how things in McBain work and answer any questions they may have.

Multicultural Night-A fun evening filled with activities and food designed to celebrate all our cultures in the McBain area.

Family Wellness Night-An evening when families can attend different classes with their kids targeting various wellness topics (nutrition/cooking, exercise, healthy habits, etc).

New Math Methods Learning Night-Families will learn the "new ways" of doing math so they can help their kids at home.

Reading Strategies Learning Night-Families will learn reading strategies that can be used at home to help their kids.

Technology apps and resources kids can use at home to support learning.
