UPDATE August 1st:
Unfortunately we have to close the form again. Our second round of requests have maxed out our extra supply. We will at least send some glasses to almost everyone who requested during this second round, but it may be far fewer than you requested. We will email the final list on Monday, August 7th after we have packaged everything. Thank you so much for helping us bring the Great American Eclipse to WV!!!

As of July 1st we have been overwhelmed with requests and are no longer accepting new requests. Thank you so much for your interest, and please review our training videos to see how to view the eclipse safely without glasses (planetarium.wvu.edu/eclipse). For those of you who requested glasses, we will be in touch!

UPDATE June 1:
Hello West Virginia Educators! Did you know that August 21st, 2017 there is a solar eclipse? It's named “The Great American Eclipse” because it can be seen across the entire continental United States. The last time we had this opportunity here in WV was 1994 – and the next won’t be until 2024!  Throughout the summer, the WVU Physics & Astronomy Department and WVU Extension, with support from the Green Bank Observatory and the WV Space Grant Consortium, are teaming up to teach West Virginia youth from across the state how to share this historic event with their friends and families right in their very own communities.

We offer a series of five short professional development videos in that will get you ready to engage your students right when school starts back. The videos will be posted before mid-summer, and you can watch them at your own pace, then join us for a Q&A, and we'll ship you a set of eclipse glasses for FREE.
