The BC Beer Awards is looking for help and we want you!
Our main event is on
Saturday, November 5th from 4-9pm at the Croatian Cultural Centre (
3250 Commercial Dr, Vancouver), however some shifts will start at 9am, and some will go until 10pm, or where tear down is complete. Most volunteer shifts are approx. 4-5 hours.
Duties range from, but not limited to: entry table, token sales, handling the entrance/check-in, water running, event set up/tear down, etc. Do note that shifts will be based on a first come basis, and will be allotted at the discretion of the BCBA team dependent on event needs. You will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator Elise with confirmation of further details in late August, after the official call out has been made.
Changes for 2022:
Note the event is slightly different than previous years, whereas this year we have moved away from a traditional small pour tasting festival format, to a more casual environment where we will have 8 bars across the venues serving tall cans (16oz) of beers. This decision was made to reduce touch points for safety reasons, and also allow our industry peers a chance to enjoy the festivities with their colleagues and friends in a more relaxed environment!
Because of this change, we are also hiring bartenders for this event! Duties for this include setup & teardown of the bar, opening & serving cans, and re-stocking beer & ice as needed. It is necessary to have a good knowledge & enthusiasm of beer, as since the breweries won't be staffing their booths as usual, it's important that the evening's bartenders can describe and promote their beers to guests! Please note your interest on this form if you'd like to discuss bartending at one of our style bars and we will review further. Bartending shifts will be approx. 8 hours with a break & a meal token.
We are also introducing a paid shift for token sales this year as well, at $20/hr & you will work approx. 6 hours (exact shift time TBD. Please indicate your interest on the form. Note token sales shifts are very limited!
Event volunteers will all receive a meal token, a few goodies donated from breweries and our sponsors, as well as an epic volunteer after party at 12 Kings Pub with access to a private party room & Saturday night karaoke.

jill@bcbeerawards.com directly. We need stewards to help pour and run beer for the judging. Volunteers will be fed plus some other extra perks!
BCBA reserves the right to decline event participation, judging submissions or entry to the event at any point at their discretion. Harassment or discrimination of our exec, staff, volunteers or attendees of any sort will not be tolerated.
