Thanks for expressing an interest in becoming a volunteer Penguin Guide with Earthcare St Kilda.
Please take a look at the Penguin Guide Handbook (
https://goo.gl/kJ6eAh) before completing this form to discover what is involved with being a penguin guide and to ensure that it is right for you.
Volunteer Penguin Guides work in the Little Penguin viewing area at the end of St Kilda Pier to provide information to visitors about the penguins and minimise the impact of visitors on the colony. You would be expected to work a 2-3 hour shift after sunset once per fortnight.
This role is all about interacting with visitors, often managing their behaviour, so you must have strong and effective communication skills, diplomacy and confidence in order to be an effective Penguin Guide.
You need to be committed to regularly attend your fortnightly shift for at least 6 months, we need reliable guides to ensure that we can maintain a sufficient team size each night.
Penguin Guides must be over 18 years of age and will be required to become members of Earthcare St Kilda.
Please complete all the sections below and then submit.
We will review your application and get back to you.
