Article Writing Retreat - 28 - 31 August 2017
This retreat is open to RU registered postgraduate scholars who are working on an article for publication. If they are co-authoring with supervisors, then the supervisors are welcome to attend too.

The application below must include a brief overview of the planned article.

Deadline for applications is 11 August. Spaces are limited. You will be informed by 14 August whether or not you have been accepted.

All transport, meals and accommodation are included - but you're advised to bring your own snacks and an extra blanket in case of cold.

The retreat includes structured sessions, writing sessions and sessions for feedback from the resident writer-respondents. There are two respondents at the retreat - one from the Natural Sciences and the other from the Humanities and Social Sciences.

This retreat is focused on the development of a journal article. You will be taken through various sessions on selecting a journal and developing an argument, you will also have a number of sessions for you to simply sit and write, and there will also be opportunities for you to get feedback on your writing. In the space below, please give us a brief outline what your article is about. What is the topic? What is the main argument or contribution of the planned article? If the article is based on the analysis of data, you already need to have done this prior to the retreat. *
