Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice 2018: Discipleship at the Crossroads
Thank you for your interest in Fordham's IFTJ delegation! We are so excited to get to know you! Please read all the information below and fill out this form ASAP so we can gather some important background information.  Priority will be given to registrations received by 10/1.

Be part of the largest annual Catholic/Jesuit social justice gathering in the United States! IFTJ is an opportunity for members of Jesuit schools and organizations to come together in the context of social justice and solidarity to learn, reflect, pray, network, and advocate together in Washington DC.  IFTJ is grounded in a rich history of honoring the Jesuits and their companions who were martyred in El Salvador in 1989 and has focused on social justice themes such as immigration reform, environmental justice, racial justice, and many others.

This year's Teach-In begins Saturday, November 3 through Monday, November 5.  The theme is, "Discipleship at the Crossroads: The Courage to Journey Together as an Intersectional Community". The priorities for advocacy are creating an economy of solidarity and inclusion, and justice for Honduras. The keynote speakers for the conference are Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., Chair of the US Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Anti-Racism Committee, The Peace Poets Artist Collective, and Dr. Nichole Flores, Theologian from the University of Virginia.  There will be breakout sessions on dozens of other social justice topics as well.

By filling out this form, you agree to participate in 5 weekly formation sessions on your preferred campus and 1 large-group Commissioning prior to the Teach-In, and follow-up activities after the Teach-In.  In addition, we all  participate in team fundraising efforts.

Cost: A $60 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot (LC:  LL 217; RH: McGinley 102).  Please await a confirmation email in late September/early October before bringing in your payment.  The total cost to participate is estimated to be $250.  As part of your commitment to the group, delegation members will work together to fundraise in an effort to help defray the collective cost.  Due to successful fundraising efforts the last couple years, previous groups have not had to pay additional costs.  If cost is a concern for you, please contact Erin Hoffman (ehoffman12@fordham.edu) as we do not want cost to be the reason you can't participate.

The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice is sponsored by the Ignatian Solidarity Network. Fordham's delegation is hosted by a collaborative effort between Campus Ministry and the Center for Community Engaged Learning within the division of Mission Integration and Planning.  If you have any questions, please contact Erin Hoffman (ehoffman12@fordham.edu) or Vanessa Rotondo (vrotondo@fordham.edu).

All are welcome!
