This fall 2018 and spring 2019, Laney will train and support 5 paid social justice student organizers. We are committed to providing opportunities for students to build their skills and knowledge outside of the classroom, and to apply the knowledge they've gained to empower community members and fellow students. This cohort of leaders will be focused on developing relationships with immigrant rights organizations and organizing campus activities to support undocumented community members and students. They will also work in collaboration with the Berkeley City College Undocumented Community Resource Center.
This is a paid student organizing position where students will be expected to dedicate 6-9 hours per/week for $13.23/hour with a maximum allocation of $1,000/student for each semester. Note, students who hold other paid positions within Peralta cannot work over 20 hours total between their various positions. Students must be available to attend weekly SJC cohort planning meetings every Wednesday from 3pm-5pm.
Please submit your applications by Thursday, October 11th at 11:59pm by filling out this form.
