ABOUT WTFS
At the end of every year I feel frantic, neurotic, and obsessed with completing something on my extremely long writer’s goals list. Every year I reflect on the entire year and I look at the areas where I struggled. I look at what I still have left to achieve. This year is no different, this year was met with tragedy, devastation, grief, loss and sadness; while at the same time bringing me an abundance of blessings in the form of writing awards, opportunities, speaking gigs, publications and completed work. But I still have one thing I really want to achieve this year and I don’t want to celebrate that win alone. I am inviting you to journey along with me in the Write the FCKING Story Challenge kicking off this weekend.
What is the Write the FCKING Story Challenge?
It is a one month writing challenge where you join me with the sole intention of getting the FCKING story written! No BS! No excuses! This challenge is about getting that first draft done. It’s about world building. Creating new scenes. Developing the story. Finishing the play. Completing the chapbook. Submitting to magazines. Applying for fellowships and grants. It is about COMPLETION! If you know me you know that completion is one of my favorite words. The WTFS Challenge is me lovingly pushing you, kicking you in the… and cheering you from the sidelines for showing up. We are a supportive community who is encouraging you to get THE WORK DONE. My personal goals for this 32-day writing challenge is to write the last fifteen chapters of my novel. I AM READY TO FINISH THIS—are you?
The WTFS Challenge starts:
Saturday, December 15, 2018 through January 15, 2019. This is what WTFS looks like: we meet ONLINE (it is a youtube/google hangout call). We will write together in community every morning for 32 days. We write from 5:00AM-8:00AM *there are NO winter breaks. (RSVP for more details on accessing the videos)
