Title: NIX Opiates
Session Description:
Created by Ohio American College of Emergency Physicians, the program educates about the disease of addiction and the deadly consequences of overdose. The NIX Opiates program is suitable for all community members. Parents, this is an excellent opportunity to bring your teen(s) to get educated and start a conversation about the dangers of drug use.
Keynote Speaker:
James Chan MD is an emergency physician who practices in Columbus and throughout the state of Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University medical school and residency programs. He was elected fellow of the American College of
Emergency Medicine in 2015. He has been a Worthington resident for the past 12 years.

As a reminder: Drug Safe Worthington, in collaboration with Worthington Schools, is hosting an eight part "Worthington Cares" Speaker Series for the community. The focus of the series is on mental health, substance use, addiction, and bullying. Participants will gain prevention strategies and resources for help in dealing with these issues.
The "Worthington Cares" speaker series is open to all members of the community. To encourage participation, every speaker series event will include a free dinner as well as supervised activities for youth ages 5 - 15. The supervised will promote a healthy and drug free lifestyle. The speaker portion of the event begins at 6:45 p.m. for those who cannot attend dinner.
