Volunteers - CPW Youth Skills Day  - Sunday June 3, 2018
The Evergreen Youth Outdoor Skills Day will be held Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Buchanan Ponds. Volunteers are needed to teach/help kids fish, and demonstrate fly tying.
The event will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm.  Set-up as early as 7:00am for volunteers. Approximately 250 participants are expected with many walk-ups.  Registration will be available through the CPW website soon.  This will be a multi-station, hands-on instruction and engagement activity format.  ETU will provide casting instruction, fly tying stations and help catching, netting, releasing fish, etc.  A little entomology before tying and then off to the pond.  ETU will need help putting up the huge event banner out on Evergreen Parkway along with one of the ETU banners.  The other ETU banner will be at our fly tying tent.  Tents provided by CPW.  Fly rods provided by CPW but most volunteers should bring their own along with the usual stuff....net, nippers, hemos, etc.  Lunch and drinks will be provided to volunteers.  Participants may keep 2 fish according to CPW rules.  CPW will stock the upper pond! Community Partners include CPW, ETU, Evergreen P&R, Audubon/Nature Center, Elks,Colorado Wildlife Federation and the National Wildlife Federation.
