Please fill out this form and submit, to be considered as one of our new guardian homes.  Please understand that a slow response, or no response, does not mean lack of selection.  We may not have a dog available at this time, or the right pup for your family.   Also, this is just a brief snippet of information.  There is much more to be shared once a family is selected and this process goes forward, including a detailed contract to protect both families.  Thank you so much for considering partnering with us in this exciting new adventure! <3

How many children do you have in your home, and what are their ages? Are they comfortable with dogs? *
Are you willing to travel to transport your guardian dog for breeding? *
Would you prefer to add a male or female dog to your home? *

Do you know how to tell a female dog is in heat, or approaching a heat cycle?  If not, are you willing to learn, and are you comfortable taking the time to watch for signs and symptoms and reporting them to us, the breeder? *
Guardian dogs must maintain a certain level of training and obedience.  Are you able to provide a dog with basic training, teach basic commands and preferably go through a basic obedience course? *
Goldens need exercise daily, however, overly exercising a growing dog can be detrimental as well.  What type of exercise could you provide a puppy daily? *
Do you have a fenced yard?  What are your plans to contain a female dog in heat, or an unaltered male dog?   *
Controlling a puppy's weight can be challenging at times, do you understand and feel capable of always maintaining a puppy and adult dog at a healthy weight (never under or over?) *
Guardian dogs need high quality nutrition, as we feed our dogs here on our Denzil's Farms.  Do you understand, and are prepared to feed the high quality food of Denzil's Goldens choosing? *
Denzil's Goldens is responsible for all breeding related costs, however, you the Guardian home is responsible for routine vet costs, vaccinations, etc.  We do also pay to spay/neuter at the end of the guardian agreement. Do you feel prepared financially to carry what can be sometimes a high cost of adding a new family member?   *

Lastly, now that the "business" part is partially out of the way, there is a LOT of really fun stuff in this!  You, the family, get a beautiful, pick of the litter puppy, for free!  We, the breeders, get peace of mind, of knowing that one of our beautiful fully health tested dogs is being raised in a one on one family environment!  As much as we strive to never kennel our dogs, as breeders, occasionally we have to, to keep them safe, away from other dogs, in heat, etc, and Guardian homes help prevent that, help keep dogs in wonderful loving family homes, and help keep our quality, ethical breeding program going.   We are very excited to see the future of this!  Raising Golden Retrievers, and bringing joy to young families like ours has been a huge pleasure....our children have learned so much about working hard, treating small things well, and with respect, and running a small business.  We hope through our Guardian Program that a few select families like ours can perhaps learn a little bit about caring for these beautiful dogs!  In closing, please tell us a little about you, your family, and what you can offer to our Denzil's Goldens Family! <3
