Firstly, a warm welcome to those parents who are joining us this year at Bangkok Patana School. The Tigersharks are one of the schools 'year-round' programs and caters for well over 250 students. The trial system offers your son/daughter the opportunity to show what they can do in a fun and simple way. Below you can find some of the key informtion regarding the trial:

When are the swim trials?
There are five after school slots available for trials, starting from 14:30 (end of school). They should last no longer than 60 minutes.

Where will they take place?
At the 50m Pool. Swimmers should head straight to the changing rooms and will then be welcomed onto poolside by one of our coaching team. Parents are also welcome to watch, although are asked to remain seated in the stands.

What are swimmers required to do?
Depending on the swimmers age group, they will be required to swim either a timed 100 yard IM or 200 yard IM (Individual Medley: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle) .

If the swimmer is in year 1 or 2, they will only need to swim 1 lap across the width of the pool for each stroke.

What if my child is selected?
You will receive immediate feedback on poolside, as well as a follow up email from the Head Coach to outline the squad information.

What if my child is NOT selected?
If they wish to improve their skills in order to trial again at a later stage, they can sign up for recreational swimming which is available on the ECA site. The issues noted at the trial will then be communicated with the coaches who will be in charge of the recreational lessons.

Can my child trial again at a later stage?
Trials are available throughout the year by emailing Coach Rich directly (rimo@patana.ac.th).
