Background about Whatsapp ‘ALS care & Support’ group: After penning down our learnings and experiences in
alslifemanagement.weebly.com, it was found that there was very much need to remain closely connected with fellow ALS patients and families for this rare disease, as even medical practitioners are having very less knowledge about the ALS life management and latest advancement worldwide. We faced number of challenges during our mother's ALS journey as we were unable to locate any similar case to walk this journey along for initial 7 years(2008-2015). We two sisters, on our own, kept critically examining & adding our self made improvisations to bring the shape to reach the best quality procedures to take care of ICU@home. In 2015, we initiated WhatsApp ALS care & Support group to traverse these learnings and to connect ALS community in India to support each other. This group's purpose is to build support among ourselves and have integrated closely connected network of ALS patients and their caregivers in India. Currently, this ALSCAS family is having hundreds of wonderful caring CALS and PALS members from India who share and support each other on day to day challenges faced by fellow ALS patients and continuously keep adding to group's cumulative learning to help others in future.
