-Student athletes must report all injuries to Mr. B immediately. If a doctor excuses you from practice or competition, you will need a doctor to release you to return to practice and competition.

-ALL JMPS Track and Field athletes, grades 6-12, compete as either Junior High or High School athletes. ATHLETES CANNOT COMPETE IN BOTH! Each athlete may ONLY compete in 4 events at a given meet, including alternate spots for relays. No substitutions are allowed after meet registration closes.

-Practice is held M-F 3:30-5:30, unless you are in another sport, and then the student MUST attend AT LEAST one track practice per week OR be cleared by Mr. B to compete in that week’s meet. RELAY ATHLETES MUST DO AT LEAST THREE 20 MINUTE HANDOFF SESSIONS TO COMPETE IN RELAYS EACH WEEK, including alternates. These sessions do not have to be during track practice, but they must be logged with Mr. B.

-If a student is at school, he/she is expected to be at track practice. Track athletes will be excused to attend other JMPS games (soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball) as a team for announced games. TRACK ATHLETES MAY NOT miss practice to attend another sports game(s) without Mr. B’s permission beforehand. Missing practice MAY mean that the athlete misses that week’s meet.

-ALL meet registrations are completed by the due date. There are no changes to meet registrations after the deadline. We will let Mr. B know prior to the due date if we are going to miss a meet for any reason .

-Student athletes must meet the league requirement of COMPETING in 4 meets in order to be eligible to QUALIFY to compete at the State meet. Only the top 25 qualifiers will qualify to compete at State.

- If a student is late to the meet call at school (generally early Saturday mornings), the team will leave without him/her.
