Theater Asylum is back for year 8 of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. With every year getting bigger, we are up to the challenge to work with you to make your fringe experience a positive one.

This is a submission form for:Venues run by Asylum for the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2017 (June 2017)
As well as the 2017 ENCORE AWARDS - Extensions (July 2017)

Who we are...
Theater Asylum is a venue and production management company that provides venues with a trained staff and coordinated pr and social media plan. In addition, we offer publicity and production services and offer a free consultation. With over ten years of Fringe experience combined, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, including producing shows every year of Fringe, with several award winners, you will see why so many previous productions return to our venues every year. For several years now, we have had the largest number of shows in our venues and pride ourselves on a strong Fringe community spirit and are very active on the Venue Committee and HFF Advisory Board. In addition, we’re the Executive Producers of the ENCORE (best of) awards following the HFF in July and are award winning producers with over 25 years of experience

Venues
We have been working hard to set up several new venue options for the Hollywood Fringe 2017.
We currently are booking Studio C, McCadden Place, Stephanie Feury, Asylum’s (Inter)national House (for out-of-towners) and just added The Underground Uptown and Annex. We will be announcing additional venues shortly.

All spaces will have 3-4 chairs, cubes and a table, possible couch.You will not be able to paint the space. Anythin gyou want to hang or screw into, must be cleared by a Certified Venue Manager.
Storage (BOOKING)
General rule of thumb is to bring everything and take everything with you for every show --keep it light, simple, be creative and utilize your whole cast. Rare exceptions are made and some spaces do allow for approved storage, but it's not always guaranteed.

PRE-REGISTRATION - HFF17 ENCORE AND VENUE AWARDS

THIS IS A PRE-REGISTRATION FORM FOR THESE AWARDS.
IN ADDITION IT PROVIDES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR BOOKINGS. EVERYONE SHOULD FILL OUT THE FULL FORM.

AWARDS -YOU WILL BE ASKED AT THE APPRORIATE TIME TO ANSWER SOME ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS

The Encore Producer Awards represent the best of the Hollywood Fringe selected by venue producers, based on artistic merit and commercial potential. The extensions immediately follow the HFF2017 and run through July in participating fringe venues. Shows receive valuable extensions giving them the opportunity for additional audience, press, awards and extensions.

Past winners have gone on to further extensions in LA, around the country and the world.

Some of these productions included Pulp Shakespeare, Pokemusical, Sunny Afternoon, My Penis in and Out of Trouble, Bad Arm, The Birthday Boys, Take Me To the Poorhouse, The Devil and Billy Markham, I am Google, Who Loves You Baby and Meet & Greet.

To be Considered for the ENCORES:

Your production must be a registered participant of the 2016 Hollywood Fringe Festival and have at least 3 performances, including press week.

Your production must be available for at least one date during the THE ENCORE! PRODUCERS AWARD schedule, which immediately follows the Fringe and runs through July.

Your production must prove artistic merit, as well as commercial viability.

You agree to provide complimentary tickets to Encore Producers during the HFF2017.

Participants are responsible for all production costs, tech support, and box office support.

Interested participants must register by completing the Submission form.

Applying does not guarantee show will be viewed for consideration.

DEADLINE TO APPLY – JUNE 8th (Unless approved by Venue)

If you are selected:

Selected shows will be officially announced at the Fringe Awards ceremony on June 25th.

Selected shows will get at least one performance as part of the THE ENCORE! PRODUCERS AWARD following the Fringe festival in July. Typically extensions are one to two performances, but longer runs are possible.

Shows will have the opportunity for one technical rehearsal in the performance space if transferring from another venue.

An initial fee of 10% of total extension ticket sales will go to the THE ENCORE! PRODUCERS AWARD to cover administrative and publicity costs.

Participating venues agree to no cash up front,

A No Comp Policy may be in affect as stated by each venue.

Venues can further negotiate with participants.

PICK OF THE FRINGE - Selected groups perform 5 - 8 minutes of their show at one of four shows at Theatre Asylum, during the Hollywood Fringe. This is great publicity for your show - A Curated Cabaret.

QQQ - Every year Matthew Quinn/Combined Artform picks one or two shows for a 4-8+ week production at the Asylum, late Summer - Fall.

TAC - The Actors Company picks one or two shows for a 4- 8 week production at The Actors Company.

ENCORES EXTENDS TO SAN FRANCISCO- The first year of selecting groups for co-pro shows in San Francisco.
