2017 Summer Shoreline Workshops
Lake Champlain Sea Grant and Franklin Watershed Committee invite you to participate in three workshops this summer focused on improving water quality and a healthier environment around Lake Carmi and greater Franklin County.

Workshops will take place at the FELCO Room at the Franklin Homestead from 4:00-5:30pm.

Pollinator-Friendly Plants - July 26, 2017, 4:00-5:30pm
Participants will learn about:

Benefits of pollinator-friendly plants for shoreline habitat and protection
Native plants adapted to soil and climate
Best planting locations and techniques

Rain Gardens - August 9, 2017, 4:00-5:30pm

Reducing stormwater runoff with rain gardens
Assessing your property for best location
Learning how to install
Native plants adapted to soil and climate

Natural Shoreland Erosion Control - August 23, 2017, 4:00-5:30pm
Participants will learn about:

Protecting your shoreline from erosion
Assessing your shoreline for risks and options
Natural control methods: plants, buffers, etc.
Vermont’s Shoreland Protection Act: overview
Local Resources
