BAKOTA 2018: Field School Application
Welcome to the online application for "The Bronze Age Körös Off-Tell Archaeological (BAKOTA) Field School: Undergraduate Training in Fieldwork and Independent Research Reporting in European Archaeology."

The BAKOTA project is studying a Bronze Age cemetery population in Eastern Hungary, and aims to understand how this region intensified farming, craft production, and trade without corresponding increases in social inequality. For more information about the project and field school check out our website (http://bakota.net/) and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/bakotaproject).

Financial support for international students is provided by the Central European Institute (http://www.quinnipiac.edu/institutes-and-centers/central-european-institute/) at Quinnipiac University. Preference will be given to students from Hungary, Romania, and Poland. If accepted, students will be eligible for a $165/week summer stipend, in addition to room and board (for 6 weeks from July 3 to August 16). The project does not provide health insurance.

Three fellows will be selected from the pool of applicants. They will have one week to officially accept the offer. Two alternates will also be chosen, to be awarded should a Fellowship finalist not respond by the stated deadline.

Timeline for the decision process follows:
Application receipt date: March 2, 2018 (***EXTENDED TO MARCH 15***)
                  Finalists notified: April 2, 2018
Finalist acceptance date: April 9, 2018
