St. Matthew Small Groups meet regularly in order to grow in faith and friendship. Most meetings take place in parishioners’ homes and include time for socializing, study, discussion, and prayer. All are welcome - young, old, single, married, those seasoned in the faith and those just getting started.

After filling out your contact information, please select any groups that interest you and rank them in order of your preference. A small group leader will be in touch within the week about the group(s) you selected.

Below see descriptions of each of the St. Matthew Small Groups. If you are interested in this group, please select the option. You may select as many as interest you. The general location of the group meetings are listed in the parenthesis at the end of each group description. Spots are not guaranteed, and more groups will be starting within the year to accommodate those who do not find groups this fall. *

Hearts on Fire Bible Study, led Jon Adamson and Tony Luber. This group meets on Sunday mornings at 10:15 in the faculty lounge of the school to discuss the readings of the day. Rather than just looking at the Biblical text, this group seeks to meet Jesus in the stories of Scripture as well as in the context of members' daily lives. (St. Matthew School - Seton Room)

Building Communities of Disciples, led by Tom and Cathy Stapleford. This co-ed group meets every other Friday evening at 7:30 in the Stapleford's home to discuss either Scripture or spiritual reading.. Adults of all ages and states of life are welcome, and families with children can bring them along to play or watch a movie in the basement while the group meets upstairs. (Sunnymede)

Tuesday Catholics, led by Mark and Naomi Hoipkemier. This group of young adults meets weekly on Tuesday evenings from 8-9:30 p.m. and rotates between members' homes. This group uses Bishop Robert Barron's study materials for discussion and then prayerfully reflects on the upcoming Sunday's readings before eating delicious desserts. Young adults, single, married, or married with children, all welcome. (Location rotates)

Living Laudato Si, led by Shawn and Stephanie Storer. This group focuses on growth in holiness, the everyday practice of Christian life, integral ecology and care for our common home. Meetings will include prayer, study, clarification of thought, roundtable discussions, faith sharing, cultivation, cooking food and fellowship. (St. Matthew neighborhood)

Ten Talents, led by Rory and David Hoipkemier. This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 8 p.m. and focuses on Catholic intellectual material. Meetings consist of listening to Bishop Barron's homily on the upcoming Sunday gospel, discussion of a book of choice, and ending with evening prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours. (Edgewater)

Women's Prayer, Share and Serve, led by Andrea Chustak. This women's group meets the first and third Friday of the month in Andrea's home from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Meetings include praying the rosary, book discussion, and acts of service. Women of all ages welcome. (Blair Hills, Mishawaka)

Faithful to Grace, led by Adrian and Marie Reimers. This is a group for married couples interested in living out the call to holiness according to a plan that JPII was using in Poland. Meetings take place two Sundays a month and alternate between studying a text together and taking group outings. (Roseland Area)

Holiness in Marriage, led by John and Monica Sikorski. This group for "young" couples (those engaged to be married or in their first ten years (or so) of marriage) meets once a month and focuses on living out the sacrament of marriage as a vocation to holiness. Meetings include study materials and day-to-day strategies for growing in love in the midst of ordinary life, as well as an opportunity for discussion, prayer and fellowship. (Coquillard Woods)
