Register to Participate in Playhouse Build Fest 2019
When: The Playhouse Build Fest will be held from 9 am-2 pm, Saturday April 13, 2019. 9-10 am will be invitation only for kids with special needs, then we will open to the public at 10 am.

Where:  Watauga High School

What is it?
A daylong celebration of creativity and problem-solving, BuildFest will offer hands-on activities and engaging demonstrations for kids aged 2-12 accompanied by their parents. We are interested in art and STEAM-related creative “work as play” opportunities such as Rube Goldberg machines, fort construction, pattern exploration, robotics, pulleys, and simple experiments but also chances for kids to experience art-making and the nitty-gritty of construction such as hammering or building a wall with bricks and mortar.

We would also love to include traditional crafts such as pottery or weaving or even fiddle-making. We are seeking ASU classes and clubs, as well as community groups, to offer activities and/or demonstrations for 50-60 booths at the Fest.

You can think up your own activity for your booth or consult the list of suggested activities here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atuksd8hdgBbdFkwTUlOZE5TdHNrVTNDemRleHQwc0E&usp=sharing

New this year: Children's Council Family Village, an area within BuildFest that will focus on families, providing resources for parents/caregivers, quiet space for sensory overload, and activities for kids under five.

Registration: FREE!

Timeline: Please submit this participation form to commit by March 22, 2019 and submit your activity description by April 5th. We will provide more detailed activity guidelines and suggestions after you have submitted this form. We will review all activity descriptions to avoid duplication and troubleshoot any potential challenges.

Because the festival is for kids from age 2-12, we would like approximately 25% of activities aimed at preschoolers, 25% for K-3, 25% for grades 4-6, and 25% for all ages.

Materials: Groups are asked to provide all needed materials but we may be able to help you find sources of inexpensive supplies or potential donors for supplies. Please let us know if you need access to electricity. We may also have nonconsumable supplies you can borrow such as balls or bins.
