A Letter to Volunteer Applicants
Dear Volunteer Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the second annual #IAmAntiBully’s 2017 LEGO Event!

Iamantibully Society is a not-for-profit organization focused on encouraging young people and their circle of influence – parents, educators, and community members – to take a proactive stance against bullying by embracing who they are individually and building emotional wellness. We partner with likeminded individuals and organizations through creative mediums and community events to create inclusive environments that strengthen relationships and build lasting memories.

Our vision is to continue to establish a movement where being an anti-bully is the new norm for young people.

The purpose of the society is:
·  to initiate conversations around bullying, starting within our local community in British Columbia;
·  to empower teenagers through education, social media and community events; and
·  to provide information, strategies, and support for parents, educators, community members who wish to engage in our movement.

What is the purpose of the LEGO Event? The main goal is to raise awareness about the different forms of bullying and the settings in which they can occur.  Different forms can include physical, verbal, and cyber, and can take place in a school, extracurricular activity setting, home, or even in the workplace.

The event will strive to:

·  Use a positive psychology approach in supporting participants in sharing their experiences and the effects of bullying;
·  Enhance their life skills via building positivity, kindness and an understanding of what a healthy relationship looks like.

Be an #IAmAntiBully Volunteer!

Iamantibully volunteers will be required to attend a volunteer orientation on the day of the event. As a volunteer, you will:

· Develop leadership skills and gain new work experience skills
· Meet new friends your age who share an interest in social change
· Connect with like-minded individuals
· Meet young professionals from a variety of careers
· Get community service hours
