Where: McHenry Mansion (15th and I Street, Modesto)

     ►  Tour 1: Arrive 8:45am, assemble in the basement
                        9:00-9:45am - Mansion Maid Presentation
                        9:45-10:20am - Docent-led tour of the first and second floors of the home
     ►  Tour 2: Arrive 10:30, assemble in the basement
                        10:45-11:35am - Mansion Maid Presentation
                        11:35-12:20 - Docent-led tour of the first and second floors of the home
 
Description:  All of Hickman Charter School's 3rd and 4th grade students, their siblings, and their parents are invited to tour the McHenry Mansion on December 15th!  This tour includes a Mansion Maid's introduction to the McHenry family and a docent-led tour of the home, decorated for the holidays!  Your family can sign up for one of two tour times.

PLEASE NOTE: You must print (or pick up a copy from the Office) and return the attached Non-District Transportation Form to Beth Johnson before the trip.

PARKING:  Limited parking is available in front and to the left of the house.  You may also park in the Stanislaus County Library lot across the street and (carefully) cross I Street to the mansion.

LOCATION NOTES:  Due to steps and narrow hallways, strollers may not be brought into the mansion and must be docked outside on the cement.  Please leave backpacks, notebooks, water bottles, and food in your car.  Infants must be carried and toddlers in hand while in the house.  Students are not to jump of the stairs, run, talk loudly, or touch anything (except the stair rails and articles on the table in the kitchen) in the home.  Observe the Victorian tenet, "Children should be seen and not heard."  It is acceptable to take pictures without flash in the mansion.

Supervised students are free to play in the grass area to the left of the house.  The Mansion Gift Shop (924 15th Street) is open 12:30-4:00pm and offers a short film and McHenry family photos.  Parents must mind students while in the shop.  The McHenry Museum (1402 I Street) is open 12:00-4:00pm for a self-guided tour.
