On July 7-9, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center will present ʻAe Kai: A Culture Lab on Convergence. ʻAe Kai will feature art installations, performances and maker spaces that illustrate different takes on convergence between humans and nature. This is a huge event and we hope you will join us as a volunteer to make it happen.
We'd love for volunteers in Honolulu to help us set up the event on Wednesday and Thursday July 5 & 6, to help us and artists during the public event Friday, Saturday and Sunday July 7-9, and to deinstall on Monday July 10.
As with all APAC Culture Labs, ʻAe Kai will be an interactive, participatory museum experience: part festival, part exhibition, part experiment. It will also be collaboratively curated, built on partnerships with scholars and academics, and local and national artists and arts organizations.
