The Advocacy committee works to create and advance OAN's policy agenda. Lead by OAN Advocacy Chair Tricia Moore and OAN Government Relations and Consultant Kristen Brinkman, the Advocacy committee is currently working to elevate the profile of Afterschool and Summer Learning in Ohio through legislative visits and supporting legislation that meets the vision and mission of the Network. Calls are the third Thursday of the month from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Regular participation on calls and engagement in initiatives is a must.

The Communications committee works both the strategy and tactics side of communication. Framing the work we do so that stakeholders have a clear vision of how Afterschool impacts a community and the state is a big part of this committee. Social media, newsletters, website and emails blasts are also part of this committee work. Current projects include developing the OAN Communications plan. Currently seeking a Chair.

The Quality Programs committee is comprised of a team of experts interested in helping improve the quality of Afterschool and Summer Learning programs. Current projects include planning the Statewide Conference, vetting a series of professional development opportunities for OAN membership and working to define quality here in our state. Chaired by Peggy Martinez.

The STEM committee has a dual focus of both on finding opportunities for students to develop STEM skills in Afterschool and Summer Learning, as well as helping educate the STEM field on how Afterschool is developing future STEM leaders.  Current projects include creating next steps for the proposed OAN STEM Guidelines and working on a STEM policy profile for Ohio. Chaired by Linda Hubble.

The Membership Committee is chaired by Pam Steurer and Kevin Gilmore. This committee helps recruit and maintain members. It also serves as a link between members and OAN opportunities and resources. Current initiatives include the Future Leaders program and the New Member Orientations.

*UNDER DEVELOPMENT* This committee will identify funding streams and potential partners who will help provide sustainability and stability to the network.

A Regional Hub committee is a group of regional stakeholders that work with the Regional Hub Chair to create topical, pertinent and educational meetings for OAN members in a particular locality.
