Estimated time for this survey (5-10 min)
This is a free and open source webmap platform for visualization of census village data or any custom data you may have at the village level. Our aim is to eventually make this a useful tool for practitioners at the grassroots levels, researchers, journalists etc. Webmap accessible at this link (please open in separate window):
https://bnamita.github.io/Village_Mapping_v2/We welcome your feedback/inputs and collaboration on this project..
Most of the questions have 'Yes'/'No' responses, to check whether features of the webmap work as they should. If your answer to any question is 'No' then please note down your explanation of what isn't displaying correctly in the space provided for the question 19.
Note: We still have to fix the 'Add your own CSV feature', you may not be able to test that as of now
If you are interested in this project and wish to contribute in any way (further testing, developing new features (we need people with javascript knowledge), adding 2001 census data, translation to local languages, making this a mobile app etc. please send us a mail at
pune@datameet.org) . If you are interested in making something like this for your own state and India as a whole please feel free to fork the code or ask us and we can help
