For requests to serve as a group, please email us at starfish@adoreministries.com attn: Lauren Koath and she will help get your group set up!  We are so excited by the overwhelming response of groups wanting to serve!  At this time we are limiting groups to under 20 people, ages 18 and over (no high schoolers).

As people begin to move back into their homes, they need basic cleaning supplies to set up shop.  Please help us help them by donating:
Household cleaners
Mops and brooms
Laundry Detergent

If you have any furniture or appliances you think another family would want/need, please contact us.
We do still have requests from time to time for work crews so if that is something you would like to do please call us and talk to Lauren.

Why Project Starfish?
One day, an old man was walking along a beach that was littered with thousands of starfish that had been washed ashore by the high tide. As he walked he came upon a young boy who was eagerly throwing the starfish back into the ocean, one by one.

Puzzled, the man looked at the boy and asked what he was doing. Without looking up from his task, the boy simply replied, “I’m saving these starfish, Sir”.

The old man chuckled aloud, “Son, there are thousands of starfish and only one of you. What difference can you make?”

The boy picked up a starfish, gently tossed it into the water and turning to the man, said, “I made a difference to that one!”

As much as we may do, we know we are not going to even make a dent in the work that needs to be done in Texas, but we can affect those in our 10 foot radius. Project Starfish was the initial name of Adore's outreach during Hurricane Katrina so we thought it was appropriate to bring it back.
