We are no longer collecting responses to this survey but if you are using SketchUp 2018 we do have a potential workaround for you.

With SketchUp Pro 2018, we added a new setting which fixes the Select tool lag issue. We have created a script, named WindowsSlowSelectionWorkaround.bat, to enable this setting.

When running WindowsSlowSelectionWorkaround.bat please note the following:
- You will nee to shut down SketchUp before running the script
- This setting is set at the User Account level so it will need to be set for every user on a given computer.
- You will only need to run this script once for each user, and you do not need to run it every time you launch SketchUp.
- The following link will download a .zip file containing the .bat file listed above.
- Once the download is complete:
- Right-click on the .zip file and choose "Extract all..."
- Choose a location in which to extract the contained .bat files
- Open that location in Windows Explorer
- Right-click on WindowsSlowSelectionWorkaround.bat and choose "Run as administrator"
- When running WindowsSlowSelectionWorkaround.bat, you may receive a warning from Windows stating that SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. If you receive this warning please click "More Info" in the warning dialog and choose "Run Anyway".
