CAPE (Community Alliance Promoting Education) of Madison County is offering an exciting Summer Literacy Workshop this summer on Thursday, June 8 at Pendleton Heights Middle School. The Summer Literacy workshop has a new format this year with a focus on grade level sessions. This year we are opening the workshop to other schools outside of the CAPE network.The workshop is geared to provide literacy strategies and techniques that can be modified and shared with students of all ages.

Workshop Overview
Keynote Address: Mrs. Andrea McCammon, P16 Director for the State of Indiana
Literacy Workshops: Courtney Gordon literacy specialist from Smekens Educational Resources
Morning Session: Intermediate (grades 3 - 6 and up)

SCAFFOLD WRITING SKILLS
Interactive Book Making: David Slonim, Author & Illustrator - 75 minute session paired running opposite the grade level Literacy Workshops with Courtney Gordon.
Mini Lessons in Response to Reading: Jean Russell, 2016 Indiana Teacher of the Year - 75 minute session paired running opposite the grade level Literacy Workshops with Courtney Gordon.
Cost: $65
Includes a free lunch and $10 to spend in CAPE bucks at the bookstore that day
