The Haunted Trail takes place at Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve on Oct. 27. We need volunteers to help in the weeks and days leading up, day of, and next day for clean up. Let us know how you'd like to be involved!

Spread the word in adjoining neighborhoods - Clairmont Heights, Valleybrook, Laurel Ridge etc

Provide refreshments for volunteers on workdays, day of event and closing day

Contact local businesses for donations for water/snacks/materials etc

Help develop themes and create creepy decor for trail

Donate decor for trail

Trail lighting Clerk (THIS IS HIGH NEED!)

Head up trail lighting planning

Determine battery operated lighting plan

Inventory existing lighting and determine needs

Assist/delegate set up and break down of trail lights

Assist/delegate activating trail lights at dark and turning off lights at closing

Set Up (Prior to Event Day)

Sat Oct 20 Clear front area of sticks/debris, rake if needed; bring gloves, rake, long sleeves/pants

Sat Oct 20 Clear games/craft area & stations; bring gloves, rake, long sleeves/pants

Sat Oct 20 Clear graveyard area, check trail condition; bring gloves, rake, long sleeves/pants

Sat Oct 20 Construct teepees along trail; bring gloves, long sleeves/pants

Sat Oct 20 Set up event signs at front of preserve.

Sun Oct 13 Assist with setting up and decorating signs at the point (Woodland & Medlock Rd)(with Jean C)

Friday Oct 26 Assist on installation of hard lighting in game/craft area (with Robert B)

Event Day! (Saturday October 27)

Event day - set up (10:AM – 3:PM)

Street closing; close off Pinebluff from Woodtrail to Schoel – direct load/unload/move

Front Area: assist with set up of food table (with Charlie C), entry table, signage, front trail decor

Assist with set up of games/craft area (with Mollie B)

Assist with intallation of graveyard & bridge décor (with Ted W)

Assist with installation of graveyard lights & witch area (with Roman K)

Assist with installation of scarecrows

Assist with installation of trail décor (many hands needed)

Install skull trail lighting along trail

Assist lighting clerk with installation of battery operated lights along trail following lighting plan, need staple gun

Event day - during event (4:30PM - 9:PM)

Direct traffic (in two shifts) at Harrington & Woodtrail to prevent event parking on Woodtrail/Pinebluff

Work the food & drink table (with Charlie C)

Work at trail head: Take donations, give wrist bands, hand out red cell phone covers, control crowd. Wear a costume :)

Assist at game/ craft area (with Mollie B)

Apple bobbing station - supervise apple bobbing; also purchase & wash apples, cart water, supplies (costume provided!)

Craft/game area breakdown - move to front and load

Trail area décor breakdown, move to front, load
