FIRM Institute training includes three 2-hour follow-up Tutorials that introduce tools to help with implementing a financial leadership and management workplan. Tutorials extend the learning and provide an opportunity to work on specific skills or issues.  FIRM Institute participants should plan to attend all three tutorials.

*Tutorial #1  Wednesday, May 17, 2017, 9-11 am: Strategic Screen and Return on Mission
At the Strategic Screen and Return on Mission tutorial, you’ll learn how to use your financial and program results to demonstrate why an investment in your organization produces cost-effective results and returns many benefits to society. We will write statements for your nonprofit for use in communications, fundraising, and with your staff and board.

*Tutorial #2  Wednesday, June 14, 2017, 9-11 am: Matrix Map
The Matrix Map is a visual tool that plots all of your activities into a single compelling image and illustrates the financial and mission impact of each one, enabling nonprofit leaders to make budgetary and programmatic decisions that are strategically aligned with mission and make your organization financially strong.

*Tutorial #3  Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 9-11 am: Dashboards
The Dashboard tutorial provides you with a chance develop a dashboarding strategy for you organization and includes steps for identifying your organization’s key indicators, exploring the types of reporting options to use, and an introduction to how Excel can be used to streamline the reporting process.

All tutorials are held at The Nonprofit Village/Jewish Council for the Aging (Training Room). We are located at 12320 Parklawn Dr., Rockville, MD 20852. Parking at our lot is free, but limited. Additional parking is available at the metered spaces on Wilkins Avenue. We are also a ½ mile walk from the Twinbrook Metro’s east entrance.
