The workshop being an advanced forum on detailed analysis and exchange of practices will constitute of two major parts.
 
The main goals of first one are related to developing of a deep understanding of Widening concept and its impact based on real case studies, reports and statistics as well as its influence on nation R&I systems. Including in the scope the Widening package instruments and Widening as a cross-cutting issue in partnerships and thematic priorities in Horizon 2020 shall provide a broad picture of current developments. Moreover, an integrated regional approach to advancing R&I systems through Widening (mostly related to synergies) incorporated in the Widening concept will be tackled. Participants will have an opportunity to learn best practices as well as share their experiences.

The analysis of Widening issues in Horizon 2020 will create a basis for further discussions on Widening as well as an integrated regional approach to advancing R&I systems related to the topic  in Horizon Europe , including Territorial Impact Assessment of R&I Investments being in fact the second part of the workshop.
