2019 Wild Mountains Songs: Expression of Interest
Thank you for your interest in attending Wild Mountains Songs in 2019. The dates for 2019 are Thursday 28th February to Sunday 3rd March. The retreat is held in the Rathdowney Hinterland, 1 hour from Brisbane. Car pooling encouraged and therefore, interstate travellers are generally able to be picked up from Airport / CBD.

The weekend is very special to all of those who attend, and previous attendees will be assisting in assessing applications. Previous attendees are also welcome to apply. Preference will be given to mid-career artists who have independently released at least one EP / album in the last five years and currently have limited support from a management team and record label. Songwriters who live in, or have strong connections to the Scenic Rim region are strongly encouraged to apply.

In a slight change of direction, 2019's retreat will include interactive educational and professional development opportunities, aimed at encouraging and empowering artists to continue their writing profession.

With thanks to Arts Queensland and APRA AMCOS, this retreat will be free for up to 10 artists nationally. Travel costs are not included but may be subsidised depending on applications and the number of suitable applicants that apply.

DEADLINE FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST IS 14th January 2019, but may be closed off earlier if quota of suitable songwriters is received.
