**PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW**
All certified tax preparers volunteering with VITA must sign up for AT LEAST 5 shifts total in the tax season. This requirement does not apply to non-certified helpers.
All shifts, with the exception of the week at Lakeland Elementary, is at the Apartment Community Center on UMBC's campus.
Volunteers are expected to arrive 15 - 30 minutes early to their shift. Due to the unexpected volume/complexity of tax returns on the day, be prepared to stay 30 minutes beyond the scheduled time.
Pizza will be provided for volunteers who are scheduled for the whole day on a Saturday. A whole day means signing up for both the morning and afternoon shift.
We are hoping to schedule volunteers during spring break but we are unsure of volunteer demand. We will book the location if enough people sign up initially. Please consider signing up for hours and we will book appointments closer to the week.
When submitting this form, only sign up for the slots you know you can make. You can resubmit this form, but only do it for the ADDITIONAL slots you are signing up for. I have a record of all past entries and I aggregate them. If you are canceling a date you signed up for, you must email me directly.

TAX PREPARERS: Please only sign up for shifts you are certain to attend. Once you submit this form, appointments slots are opened for taxpayers in the community to reserve. Not showing up to a shift results in either longer wait times or unexpected cancellations for our clients. You can submit this form again in the future if your availability changes.
