HIV is Not a Crime II   May 17 - 20, 2016
Thank you for your interest in applying for a scholarship to attend the HIV is Not a Crime II Training Academy and Conference, May 17 - 20, 2016 at the University of Alabama/Huntsville.

HIV is Not a Crime II is three days of workshops and practical trainings on state advocacy, grassroots organizing, criminalization reform messaging, and familiarity with the related legal, medical, media, and public health issues.
Attendees will include advocates living with HIV, community organizers, activists, and experts in public health, law and public policy from across the country.

Anyone is welcome to apply for a scholarship to HIV is Not a Crime II, but priority will be given to those living with HIV, particularly those who are not employed by HIV or policy organizations.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS (including letter of support) MUST BE RECEIVED BY FEBRUARY 5, 2016.

It is important that you take your time and follow these instructions below carefully and complete the entire form.  Do not hesitate to contact conference@seroproject.com with any questions you might have.  Applications that are incomplete will not be considered.

Your application will be evaluated and scored by volunteer reviewers on the Scholarship Committee and you will be notified by email on March 11, 2016 weather or not you are awarded a scholarship.

You may apply for one of three types of scholarships:
1. A registration scholarship (for waiver of the conference registration fee);
2. A registration and lodging scholarship (for waiver of the conference registration, housing and dining fees);
3. A full scholarship (registration, lodging and transportation).

If you are awarded a full scholarship, which includes transportation, please know that it:
Will cover the most cost effective transportation, which might be by shared rides, bus, train or air
Will not cover checked baggage, this you will need to be responsible for yourself
Will not cover transportation to and from your home to, or parking at, the airport, train or bus station
Will not cover food or incidentals incurred while traveling

By applying for a scholarship, you agree to attend:
the entire training academy, including all sessions. (This commitment is a very important part of your scholarship application; if you are awarded a scholarship, it means someone else who applied did not get one, so we want to make sure we use our scarce scholarship resources for those individuals who are most motivated and committed to full participation.  Thank you.)
