Do you have an idea or a program that you want to share with conference attendees?  What are some innovative or exciting things that you would like to share with your colleagues?  Use the MPLA/KLA Annual Conference Poster Session to share your ideas and interact with colleagues.  

The MPLA/KLA 2018 Annual Conference poster session planning committee invites you to participate in the MPLA/KLA Annual Conference Poster Session.  The Poster Session is sponsored by the Emporia State University School of Library and Information Management.    

*     Poster Session Proposal Submission due date:  Monday, September 3, 2018
*     Poster Session Acceptance Notification: Friday, September 14, 2018
*     Poster Session Set-Up Time: Thursday, October 25, 2018 before 10 am (This allows for judging)
*     Poster Session Presentation: Thursday, October 25, 2017 from 1:30 to 2:50 pm

Posters will be judged by faculty members from the School of Library and Information Management Program at Emporia State University. The top poster in each of the three categories will receive a $100 award.

Posters will be entered into one of three categories:
*     Student Poster—Student must be currently enrolled in a library science program
*     Academic/Special Library Topic Poster—Content should pertain to academic or special libraries
*     Public/School Library Topic Poster—Content should pertain to public or school libraries.

Poster Session - Basic Information and Guidelines
1.  Posters will be displayed in the Hallway in front of the Ballroom in the Hyatt Regency.
2.  Set up time will be before 10 am.
3.  Posters will be unmanned and available for preview and judging from 10 am to 1:30 pm.
4.  Poster presenters must be present to host their poster from 1:30 to 2:50 pm.
5.  Poster presenters must be registered for the conference in order to present a poster at the conference OR be a vendor        who has paid for a booth.
6.   Presenters will need to bring their own poster display board or tri-fold presentation board (no bigger than 36" height x 48" width).  If you need a tabletop easel for your poster, you will need to bring that also.  
7.   Tables will be provided (presenters may need to share tables - 2 to a table).
8.   Presenters must have their displays already mounted on their own poster board, or bring the materials to mount the poster during set up.  Pins, tacks, tape, etc... will not be provided.
9.   Displays should be visually appealing and should be large enough to be seen from a distance of a couple of feet.
10. Presenters should bring any handouts or other supplementary materials and a sign-up sheet to record names and email addresses of attendees who may like additional information.  An ample supply of business cards is encouraged.
