Cucalorus is launching a two-year initiative to explore solutions to the negative impacts of gentrification in downtown Wilmington, NC through dialogue and artmaking. Our focus will be on artist-led events and interactions within two distinct neighborhoods where expressions of institutional racism threaten to destroy and diminish historically black communities. This residency will be the official launch of the program, with artists working in film, theatre, community organizing and new media.
