Snowmobile Safety Training Pre-Registration
Sign up for an on-campus snowmobile operator certification course with UAlberta snowmobile instructor, Dick Puurveen.

When:  Tuesday, January 16, 2024  8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Where:  UAlberta South Campus (west of Saville Centre, Livestock Pavillion)

Cost:    $220.00.    Please provide payment by way of an Internal Sale Form (Indent) directly to Dick Puurveen, Renewable Resources (can be emailed to Dick at puurveen@ualberta.ca).   There will be no subsidy provided by HSE.

If you need to rent a sled, there are only two available and the cost is $50.00 for the day.  Please email Dick to let him know if you require it. 

If there are 4 participants registered, the course will go ahead. If not, the course will be cancelled and those signed up will be notified and researchers will have to arrange for alternative training from an outside provider. There will be no refund issued  so each no show will be charged full amount of course.

If course is cancelled due to lack of snow or trainer unavailability, full refunds will be given.

Pre-class requirement
A safety manual will be distributed prior to the course. All participant must review the safety manual prior to the training.  A true/false exam on the material in the manual will be given, and a passing grade must be obtained for a certificate to be issued.

Participant requirements
All participants require a safe, registered and insured snowmobile, helmet and appropriate clothing.  Participants should also bring their winter survival kit, water bottle and bagged lunch.  

Validity of certification
This certification is good for 3 years from the date that you took the course.
