Thank You for your interest in volunteering with the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society (GMHS). You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer on your own at GMHS. THIS IS NOT THE FORM FOR COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE.

PLEASE NOTE: This form is not a wait-list for the GMHS volunteer program and completing this form does not guarantee you a seat at our next Volunteer Information Session. Since our volunteer program recruitment is needs based, not all volunteer assignments available will align with prospective volunteer interests or be appropriate for junior (16-17 years old) volunteers.  Please be aware that recruitment in areas allowing juniors is somewhat limited (animal care, kennel and cat areas).

Completing this form does mean, however, that once we are ready to resume recruiting and the next Volunteer Information Session has been scheduled, you will be sent a notification email: the email will include detailed information regarding the currently offered volunteer opportunities at GMHS plus a sign-up link for the Volunteer Information Session. The invitation will come from "Signup Genius" online scheduling platform.

Space will be limited at the Volunteer Information Session, registration will be required to attend and we will ask all volunteer prospects to register only if they are interested in the currently offered volunteer assignment(s).  

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Recruitment for new volunteers is based on the changing needs and resources of the organization; therefore, it is possible you may not receive a notification email for several months.  

ANOTHER NOTE: Candidates who have been invited to an Open House and do not respond after three invites will be removed from the notification system. Candidates who RSVP to an Open House and do not show three consecutive times will be removed from the notification system.
