Cat Skiing and Heli Skiing at Whisper Ridge Backcountry Resort is a true backcountry experience. No grooming equipment is used on the slopes and tight trees and variable snow can be encountered on steep slopes. The terrain and snow conditions at Whisper ridge are suited to advanced through expert skiers. Please be aware that your skiing ability must be accurately reflected on this form so that we can place you in the appropriate group. If it is determined that you have inaccurately represented your ability and you are in a group that exceeds your ability, every effort will be made to move you into a different group. We cannot however guarantee that we will be able to do that in every situation. Be aware that if you are a significant hindrance to the overall efficiency of the group, you may be asked to ride in the cat for the remainder of the day.

COMFORTABLE – Skis/boards mostly on groomed runs, occasionally ventures off groomed slopes (off-piste); prefers open terrain with no trees; limited powder experience

APPREHENSIVE – Skis/boards confidently on groomed terrain; would like to challenge their skiing but will only do so when feeling confident about the snow conditions; no deep powder experience.
