TDSA Tech Camp 2017
Kids learn best by doing. By weaving up-front instruction and demonstration with hands-on learning, TDSA's  summer technology/fit  camp gives your child the tools to create a unique, personal project. From beginner to advanced and everything in between, there’s a place at Technology Camp for your child. Beginners won’t get lost. The advanced won’t be bored. Have fun using technology and keep moving with a sports hour each day. The Fit Hour will allow your child to receive basketball/soccer, and football practice.

Stem Hour
STEM is an acronym for the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. world of wonder, excitement, innovation, and hands-on S.T.E.M. and S.T.E.A.M. learning adventures. The goal is to help campers expand their 21st century skills and knowledge centered in developing concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics while also enriching Literacy, Language, and Social Studies skills. Students will produce products.

Drone Programming
Drones are controlled via a microcontroller that must be programmed. Learn basic drag and drop code to fly a drone!
We will use Tynker, a product that teaches children the fundamentals of programming by having them build their own games, is now expanding its platform to allow kids to control connected devices, including drones!

Lego Robotics:
Imagine it, build it and watch it go! Powered by the LEGO®  WE DO  Base Set and Software, this course explores the exciting world of robotics! Combining the versatility of the LEGO building system, an intelligent microcomputer brick and intuitive drag and drop programming software, this adventure will have you creating cool robots on your first day. We use the two types of robotics.  The LEGO® WeDo® and Mindstorm EV3® Robotics incorporate STEM concepts through the construction and programming.  Campers  will learn how to analyze design plans, and with the use of sensors and other programming features, they learn how to theorize scientific and mathematical scenarios to then program logical outcomes for their robots.

Digital Photography/Editing:
Point, shoot and share.  With this course, you will be able to click away a few summer days, training your eye and learning how to best utilize coloring, cropping, and digitally enhancing your photography. The focus is mainly on Adobe Photoshop® and how to use all of it many tools. At the end of the week, students receive a DVD of all of their images.

Computer Programming
Let your imagination run wild in this multimedia adventure. Create your own interactive stories, animated adventures and creative comics. Learn drag and drop programming basics with Scratch (a project of the MIT Media Lab). Computer characters are at your command! Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art --and share your creations on the web. As young people create and share Scratch projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

Digital Animation/Storytelling
Go Animate state-of-art animation software allows campers to create, produce, and shared animated movies. Campers will create characters, backgrounds, and dialogue. They'll even get a DVD to bring home to share with family and friends.

Keyboard Lab
Learning typing is the focus of this keyboarding lab. Learning keyboarding skills is vital for today’s learners and tomorrow’s earners. This course is  a great way to build typing skills. Keyboarding games teach important skills through a variety of  typing lessons and typing games..... oh yeah, they're fun!

Movie Making
Ready to learn the basics of filming and editing? Shoot with cameras and see how much fun creative editing can be with the Adobe Premier Video  drag and drop video editor.  

Apps & Other Web Tools
Social media provides a variety of tools, commonly referred to as Web 2.0, that are used to engage students and enhance essential skills (communication, collaboration, creativity, media literacy, technological proficiency, global awareness. Using iPads, iPods and other mobile devices, students will learn relevant 21st century technology skills.
