Audition Application for Divided States: An Improvised American Introspective
America today is divided; factioned into powderkegs of dutifully-defended beliefs. Many of us retreat to our echo chambers in response to alienation and moral high-grounding from our ideologically opposed peers. Lines are drawn. Issues become black and white. No longer do people have opinions – opinions have people.

Divided States is a fully-improvised play that examines the wounds of partisanship with extreme empathy and perspective through immersion. Every week, the cast will represent and humanize the people on each side of a divisive American issue – abortion, marriage equality, immigration, gun control, and more. The actors will respectfully explore what these characters believe and why, but more importantly who they are.

Leave your bias at the door and join us as we not only walk a mile in someone else’s shoes but rub the familiar feet that fill them.
