We are thrilled to bring you the ***debut release*** of Kray from Hong Kong! At just 21 years of age, his music displays incredible depth, soul, and skill. Probably our most traditional drum & bass release to date, this one is a straight-up liquid affair, reflecting all that extra sunlight of a newly arrived spring season! It’s also our personal tribute to Hospital Records, whose uplifting sound figured heavily in our early days of DNB parties in China.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

In the sweaty urban jungles of Hong Kong, Kian Chong aka Kray began honing his craft by producing psychedelic rock in his bedroom at age 17. He then discovered drum and bass as an exchange student in Bristol, and immediately realised it was his duty to produce this unique sound. Quickly gaining experience at UK clubs Basement 45, Arch, and The Bunker, he is now based in Beijing where he makes beats for local rappers. He’s also a resident DJ for underground sound system crews Whitepark Music and Mad Forest Crew. His debut EP on Mettāsonic marks the start of what’s sure to be an impressive and fruitful discography.
