Vin Diesel and Paul Walker shared so many special moments on- and offscreen. And now, Diesel will help plan his costar and friend's exit from the highly successful Fast and Furious franchise.

"We always took pride in trying to make each one better than the last..." Diesel shared on Facebook on Thursday, Jan. 9, along with a vintage photo of the duo as Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner.

"P.s. Tomorrow we meet with the studio, regarding the future of the Fast saga...and the completion of Seven," he added.

There was much speculation as to whether the late 40-year-old actor would appear in the movie following his tragic death in a fiery car crash on Saturday, Nov. 30, but Universal Pictures has since confirmed Walker will be in the latest installment of the film franchise.

"Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015," the studio said in a statement. "James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers."

The 46-year-old actor has been using his Facebook page as a way to keep fans updated following the loss of Walker.

Diesel began the new year reflecting about his tremendous loss in 2013 and paying tribute to his late "brother."

"There was always moments of child-like laughter...We had accomplished so much by 2013...P.s. The complexities of Brotherhood, and the painful void... of it's absence," Diesel wrote.

He also shared an 18-minute video filled with special interactions with Walker over the years.

"A glimpse... of Dom and Brian… off screen," Diesel wrote on Facebook on Monday, Jan. 6.

The video features multiple clips from Walker and Diesel's time together, from promoting a film to their car-racing franchise, or just hanging out. At the end, the words, "Miss you..." flash across the screen.

Have you ever wondered how superheroes are always in perfectly made up (hair, face, etc.) after slipping into their costume? So have we, but there's still no official explanation from Hollywood. Continue reading to see five of the most puzzling things that only happen in movies.

5. Bullets

It seems like when the villain in a movie meets the hero early on during the story, he can never seem tho shoot him or her accurately, no matter what weapon they may be using. What's even more puzzling is that the hero has come out unscathed even when being shot at with an automatic assault rifle.

4. Starter

Why is it that cars always begin having troubles starting when a character is being chased by someone? We've seen this scenario countless times in horror, action, and drama films, even if the vehicle was working perfectly fine just a minute ago.

3. Vans

Wouldn't it be a bit obvious is you saw a flower delivery van parked in front of your apartment for days on end? Well, in many movies, that "flower delivery" van is actually a surveillance vehicle. Using a standard van, with a gutted interior and tinted windows might seem a little less obvious.

2. Time

Villains seem to tell their entire life story when they have the hero at gunpoint, before pulling the trigger in many movies. I mean, how many movies would've turned out entirely differently had the antagonist actually pulled the trigger without saying anything?

1. Geeks

Computer geeks in movies tend to have the supernatural ability of cracking into just about any system in a matter of minutes. Or, in some cases, the skills to hack into alien motherships to gain control of them. One thing you almost never see them doing however, is fixing printers.

apocolypse xmen movie ImageLast month Bryan Singer and 20th Century Fox announced that an X-Men: Apocalypse movie will be the next X-Men film, and it’ll be hitting in 2016.
While Singer is still finishing up X-Men: Days of Future Past he’s also working on the script for Apocalypse, and told EW that he intends to direct (but it’s not official just yet, negotiations are taking place).
While this summer’s The Wolverine introduced the plot for Past in its final moments, Singer reveals he’s still not sure whether Past will feature an Apocalypse tease. “I’m still deciding that,” he says. “Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”
While Singer didn’t give up specific plot points, he did reveal some themes. “It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”
Apocalypse is an ancient mutant born 5000 years ago. He is awoken from his slumber due to the arrival of the time-traveling mutant Cable, and decides to destroy the world with the help of his Four Horsemen. – See more at: http://filmonic.com/x-men-apocalypse-movie-coming-may-2016#sthash.VCUY0Fdq.dpuf
X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Daniel Cudmore, and Omar Sy. Post-production is currently under-way and 20th Century Fox has set a May 2014 release.

Staff Picks: Most Anticipated 2014 Movies

2014 movies

 The Grand Budapest Hotel

Ruby Le Rouge: There are a lot of movies that look promising, but I think the one I am looking forward to the most is Wes Anderson’s new film The Grand Budapest Hotel, as is usual with his movies, it has an amazing cast. I also can’t wait to see A Fantastic Fear of Everything with Simon Pegg, I have a soft spot for stop motion animation, everything about this movie looks right up my alley.

2014 movies

Tusk / Dumb & Dumber To

Eric NorcrossTusk & Dumb & Dumber To is really all I’m interested in. They’re curiosities more than anything. As far as big budget movie watching goes, Mark Wahlberg’s Transformers is of interest as is the reboot of Ninja Turtles – once again out of curiosity only.

2014 movies

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Jesse Blume:  It shouldn’t surprise many of our readers that a huge super heronerd like me is most eagerly anticipating Captain America: The Winter Soldierand Guardians of the Galaxy. Captain America is one of my favorite Marvel heroes, and I think that Marvel Studios can do a great job with this sequel. Then there’s Guardians of the Galaxy. I really enjoyed reading DnA (Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning) run with the 2008 reboot, and the leaked trailer we saw a few months ago sezied my attention. I haven’t found one aspect of either movie that doesn’t interest me somehow.

2014 movies

Ant-Man

Brandon Groppi: I can’t pin it down to any one film or two films so I’ll just name a bunch: DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, Anything Marvel-y, THE LEGO MOVIE, TRANSCENDENCE, THE EXPENDABLES 3, INTERSTELLAR, and The Nut Job. . . That last one was a joke. Who wants to see that? Poor Will Arnett – Hollywood doesn’t know what to do with your brilliance.
I can’t wait for Ant-Man. I love how Edgar Wright (director of the Cornetto Trilogy and Scott Pilgrim) described it as not a super-hero film but a heist film. I have nothing but faith in what Edgar Wright will do. He’s 4 for 4 on amazing films. So I think Ant-Man will be amazing.

2014 movies

The Expendables 3

Caliber Winfield - Other films can try to come out, but you know what’ll happen? The Expendables 3 will punch them so hard in the face that it’ll break their legs.

The Expendables films have come every 2 years like clockwork since the original release, and it’s been a religious experience for me. I love nothing more than over-the-top, ridiculous action movies, and I swear, I SWEAR that these films are made specifically for me. I’m half expecting in the third one that at one point Stallone will look at the camera and say “This one’s for you, Caliber!”. Indeed it is, Sly. Indeed it is.
Aidan Myles Green: Caliber and I are actually twins separated at birth when it comes to our shared predilection for hardcore action movies.

THE EXPENDABLES 3, kiddos. That is all.

The first was good. The second was great. Semantics of quality filmmaking aside, I’m giddy and warm inside at the sheer idea that these films are being made – and with the biggest cast in action movie history, yeah, you can bet Brandon and I will be there at midnight.

2014 movies

Interstellar

D-Rock:  INTERSTELLAR hands down. I know the trailer was vague and revealed very little, but that’s how Chris Nolan works. The minute the 2nd trailer drops this Summer, I’m betting we’re in for something truly special. I love his take on Batman, but I’m the most excited about Nolan’s return to fresh material. November 7th, 2014 cannot arrive fast enough.

2014 movies

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Tony Beaulieu: DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, the first one is easily one of the best reboots ever. And I was already a big APES fan before that.

2014 movies

Transcendence

Patricia Marquez: I must go with Transcendence. Nolan cinematographer Wally Pfister has established himself as one of the most coveted visual masters working in film today. Inception (for which is own best Oscar for cinematography) will go down in history as having one of the most ingeniously original settings, from a completely imagined world. In Transcendence, Johnny Depp plays a dying scientist who downloads his mind into a computer, with grave and eerie consequences. Just watch the trailer and tell me you don’t get chills when his confused and disembodied voice echoes from the monitor. Such a metaphysical plot will be amplified by Pfister’s talent for creating realms extending beyond our own concept of earth, realms that only exist within the often-troubled human psyche. Also, check out its great cast.

2014 movies

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Shawn S. Lealos: While it only took place over a short period of time, the Days of Future Past storyline remains one of the best in X-Men comic books. It created the alternate universe that brought characters like Cable to the Marvel Universe and just remains a perfect story. Now, Bryan Singer is bringing that story to the big screen as he tries to fix the damage done by Brett Ratner to the universe he created. This might be the swan song for Singer’s X-Men as he branches off into the new world that Matthew Vaughn kicked off so well two years ago. I have very high hopes for this movie. I am really excited about the new Captain America movie, P.T. Anderson’s Inherent Vice and a few others, but I am really excited about Singer’s return to the X-Men.
Derek Johns: When X-Men: First Class came out in 2011 it restored my faith in the X-Men franchise and now that Bryan Singer is back in the director’s chair since X2, I am already hopeful that this will be the best X-Men movie yet. With a massive cast of both old and new favorites of the franchise, I cannot wait for this release date.
N. Retah:  There are a few movies to get excited about but the one that keeps coming to my mind is “X-Men: Days of Future Past“. I’m a big fan of the franchise and this movie will include some of my favorite things in movies….time travel and Hugh Jackman. I am also excited to see the cast members from multiple X-Men movies all inside this one.
Caleb Masters: This is a really close toss up between Chris Nolan’s next original sci-fi film Interstellar and X-Men Days of Future Past. I’m a massive fan of Nolan and despite it’s shortcomings, I’m a huge fan of the X franchise.

The victor has to go to Days of Future Past because of that absolutely excellent and fanboy pleasing trailer we received earlier this year. This has all the makings of an X-men movie that seems crafted specifically to my love of time-travel and desire to see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine interact with the First Class cast. Those two points alone would make for a movie that would have me salivating all over the poster, but the fact that Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, and the rest of the original cast only make this an exceptionally tasty cake with Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask as the sweet cherry on top. This should be the X-Men movie to top all X-Men movies with the one true franchise helmer Bryan Singer return to the fold once again. This movie may have a lot to live up to, but the potential for this film is some of the greatest we’ve seen of any superhero movie this side of The Dark Knight and Avengers.
Bethany Lewis: There’s a lot I’m looking forward to, but after having the incredible good fortune to see Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen together onstage in both No Man’s Land and Waiting For Godot, X-Men: Days of Future Past just shot to the top of my list. I will see anything as long as they are in it together. I also thought First Class was an excellent return to form for the X-men franchise and I’m excited to see where they will take things next.

Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The First Avenger is undergoing a title change when it's released in Russia, Ukraine and South Korea this summer, where it will be called simply The First Avenger.

Ummm, okay. So the studios were worried that the mere mention of America would turn off foreign moviegoers. Normally, I'd make some of half-ass claim to defend us, but the truth of the matter is if you asked me to point at Ukraine on a map, I'd say "no, thank you" and change the subject in an attempt to sidestep my ignorance. So fair enough, foreign markets, you have every right to hate us. Or at the very least, me.

Anyway, The First Avenger it is. But what titles didn't make the cut? Let's have a look:

Sergeant Imperialist Dog with Shield
Royale with Cheese
Vladimir Putin's Movie Film For Good Russians Only
The First Avenger: How Russia Totally Won WWII Without Any Help From Anyone, Certainly Not America
Big Smurf
Captain Texas and the Invasion of the Hot Dogs
Batman Is A Movie You Enjoyed, So Here
An Insider's Look at How to Destroy America
Battleship Potemkin 2
2011's Action Movie for Mother Russia
The Country That's Trillions of Dollars in Debt Has Sent Their "Captain"
Captain Cuba and The Unmentioned Coincidental Colors
A Movie Probably Made by JewsGot any others? Leave 'em in the comments! America!

Timely post! Okay, sure the Oscars aren't for another seven months and it's summer, the time of year we're being bombarded movies you'd never expect to be critical darlings. But the same could have been said about all of these movies below at the time of their release. Somehow, all were honored by the Academy.

Beethoven's 2nd

"And the Oscar goes to Beethoven's 2nd." Those were almost the words uttered at the 1994 Academy Awards. And it's a shame it didn't take home the prize, as it would be amazing to go back and find that old VHS tape with the words "The Oscar Winning Film" written underneath Charles Grodin's exasperated "I can't believe I was in a film with Robert Deniro five years ago" face.

So in what category was this Oscar-worthy film almost honored? Best Song. We've embedded it below for your viewing pleasure. It's by Dolly Parton and features wonderfully dramatic shots of dogs. Enjoy:

Dolly Parton's Oscar Nominated Song from Beethoven's 2nd - watch more funny videos

Armageddon

What can you say about Michael Bay other than the fact that HE FUCKING DELIVERS OSCAR-BAIT EVERY TIME? JK JK JK JK. JK times infinity. He makes fake movies that somehow makes bazillions of dollars and get nominated for oscars? Wait, what? Yeah, Armageddon was nominated for four Academy Awards. The first for best song: Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." Notice that I embedded the song fromBeethoven's 2nd above and where I would embed this song I've put a picture of a man in a Panda suit who is very good at dating women who are not in panda suits.

The second award? Best effects - sound editing. Ugh. That means that there were people on this movie who did everything they could to make that that old lady who looks like Steven Tyler sound as crisp as possible.

Also, two more awards that I don't even want to take the time acknowledge.

Also, that song is now in your head even though I didn't embed the video and I'm terribly terribly sorry.

Also, I don't want to miss a thing.

Sorry again.

Also Pearl Harbor and Also Transformers

Oh come on. If the Academy was smart, they'd stop encouraging him.

Robocop

Robocop was also nominated for Best Sound! This is fantastic news for anyone who lovesRobocop, which is to say this is fantastic news for awesome people. Mainly because if for some reason - and I hope this never happens - some smug, self-labeled movie buff says "Oh, you like Robocop non-ironically?", you can respond with: "Yes. I enjoy the Oscar nominated Peter Weller film, Robocop, if that's what you mean."

Check and mate.

Addams Family Values

The inclusion on of this flick on this list is not to make light of its achievements. As we all know, it featured a very catchy remix of Tag Team's "Whoomp!", which was sly titled "Addams Family (Whoomp!)."

Its nomination for best art direction is brought up because this was the sequel, which while enjoyable, had exactly the same art direction, sets, make up, as the original, far superior, MC Hammer soundtracked film. By simply being nominated, it can assumed that the first one was retroactively snubbed. And that is what ultimately killed Raul Julia. Those are facts.

Waterworld

Best Sound. Waterworld is often thought of as the biggest flop in history yet can still claim it was an Oscar-nominated film. So if we're keeping score, here's the tally of Oscar nods for the following movies:

Waterworld: 1
The Shining: 0
Leon: 0
Heat: 0
Reservoir Dogs: 0
Blood Simple: 0
The Big Lebowski: 0
The Sandlot: 0

Cliffhanger

Yup. This was nominated for, and won, Best John Lithgow.

Oh if only that were true.

Okay so this was for best sound, too. And I'm including it at the risk of sounding redundant because I'm now instituting a rule that any time you find out that a Sylvester Stallone movie from the 90s was nominated for the most coveted award in Hollywood, it must be acknowledged. And while we're at it, did you know that Sly wrote Rocky? And did you know Rocky won three academy awards and was nominated for another seven?? Sylvester Stallone made that happen.

He, and Steven Seagal -- couple of auteurs. Wait, what about Steven Seagal?

Under Siege
Yup. Seagal. Two of them. Best Effects and Best Sound.

Briefly: The band is breaking up, at least for one performance. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzmanhave been a screenwriting and producing team, sometimes with help, for the first two films in the newStar Trek series. But Kurtzman will reportedly sit out the scripting of Star Trek 3, with Orci getting new input from J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.

THR says that Payne and McKaye have a bit of time to work with Orci; while Paramount hasn’t set a firm date for the threequel at this point, the report is that the studio wants the film ready to release as part of the Trek 50th anniversary in 2016. (The original show premiered on NBC on September 8, 1966.) If you don’t recognize the new names, the trade mentions that they have worked with J.J. Abrams in the past, adapting the graphic novel Boilerplate for the producer.

There’s nothing else to announce at this point — no confirmed director, and any additional cast won’t be locked in without a script. Joe Cornish remains the top choice to take the director’s chair, and we’ll let you know if all involved decide to official put him in a Starfleet uniform.

For all of his critical and commercial success as an actor, Will Smith says he owes a great debt of gratitude to his TV uncle, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star James Avery, who passed away last week at the age of 68.

The two-time Oscar nominee, 45, posted a heartfelt message on Facebook on January 5 — alongside a photo a of himself, James, and a few other Fresh Prince cast members, in what Will says is the last time he and James were together.

"Some of my greatest lessons in acting, living, and being a respectable human being came through James Avery," Will writes in the caption. "Every young man needs an Uncle Phil. Rest in peace."

Will's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith — who actually met her future husband when she auditioned for the Fresh Prince role that ultimately went to Nia Long — also posted a remembrance to Facebook, writing hers on on January 1: "I was hoping to start the new year differently, but we have lost yet another friend. James Avery, who we all lovingly know as Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince, has passed. Our condolences to Aunt Florence (his mother), Miss Barbara (his wife), and all those who loved him." Will and James co-starred in 147 episodes of the NBC hit sitcom between 1990 and 1996.

Photo: Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga Perform "Do What U Want"

Feud? What feud? Dueling divas Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga put rumors to rest on the night of The Voice finale with a live duet of Gaga’s hit, “Do What U Want”. The two killed it together on stage with matching gold lamé dresses and big, platinum hair. Now, a studio version of the redux is available onYouTube, and it sounds incredible. In fact, we hope these two collaborate again and soon.

Back in September, there were rumors that the two powerhouse vocalists were at odds because some Gaga fans were complaining that Xtina’s song, “Not Myself Tonight,” was a rip-off of Gaga’s signature sound. Back then, Gaga herself set the record straight. During an episode of What What Happens Live, she not only disputed rumors of a fight but she went into detail about how Xtina has always been her musical inspiration.

“Christina is an incredible vocalist and an incredible artist,” Lady Gaga gushed. “From me to her, I'm so sorry for anything that anyone ever said to her because of my existence. I hope that she never felt any way about it because when I was 15, I was singing ‘I Turn to You’ at the top of my lungs trying to hit all her notes. So she was an inspiration to me to have a wider vocal range, and I just think it's all total nonsense the way that they do that."

Awww, we love that. Perhaps the two will continue their love fest during their next performance, or perhaps that has too much of a “been there, done that” feel to it. Either way, we’re on board with any future duets by these two talented singers.

What do you think of the redux? Sound off in the comments!
Paul Walker's death confirmed
Since the tragic death of Paul Walker many have speculated the initial cause of his death. Now it’s being reported that the L.A. County Coroner’s Office has completed their examination via dental records for both Walker, and his friend, Roger Rodas, who was driving the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.
The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has released a statement in regards to the tragic crash that took the lives of actor Paul Walker, and his friend, Roger Rodas. Walker, 40, passed away due to a “combination of traumatic and thermal injuries.”
According to the statement, Walker did not die by the impact of the crash, and is believed to have been alive for a few seconds. It’s said that ultimately the fire caused by the impact was the cause of death. In the case of Roger Rodas, 38, the driver died on impact from severe injuries, and fire was not listed as a factor in his death.
It’s said that toxicology results will not be in for the two men until six to eight weeks, although the Medical Examiner has ruled that the deaths of Walker and his friend were accidental.
As for the event surrounding the accident, the two men were winding down after a charity event for Walker’s ROWW organization when they decided to take the red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT out for a test drive. According to Walker and Rodas’ mutual friend, Jim Torp, the two were not drag racing and were testing out a problem with the car that the two were trying to diagnose.
Shortly they left the garage, tragedy struck. According to Torp, smoke was visible from Always Evolving Performance Motors, which was the shop Rodas owned, and is around the corner from the crash site. Although many of their friends tried to get them out of the car, there was nothing that could be done. In addition, initial reports that said Walker’s 15-year-old daughter Meadow was on site at the time are false.
Paul Walker’s family has made an official statement on his public Facebook that has amassed to 12 million likes:
“Paul Walker’s family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends. They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul’s charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). Donations can easily be made through their website at http://www.ROWW.org/.”

Usher is one lucky guy! He got to spend his holidays in the sun and sand of the… Sahara desert??

Yup, that's right. Usher was visiting Morocco in North Africa, hanging in the beautiful Sahara desert.

He looks like Usher of Arabia!

Before heading back to work as a judge on The Voice for the show's 6th season, the super fit singer took a bit of a holiday and posted several shots of him in the massive desert, writing things like:

"You gotta explore a little bit more in 2014. This is just how U see it. So, we sleepin in the desert for the night…"

It looks so amazing in the desert!

We can't even begin to imagine the beautiful wonders he's seen there.

Thank goodness for social media so he has somewhere to share his awe inspiring pics.

Whether he's trying to keep warm by a fire, riding a camel or just standing atop some sand dunes, it looks like Usher is growing physically and spiritually!

Way to head out into nature to challenge yourself and better enrich your life!

It's not very often we get to see a smile on the face of some of horror's most famous characters, but these behind-the-scenes photos do exactly that and it's pretty trippy! One of the many reasons I became such a fan of this genre is not only because of my love for the characters themselves, but the actors behind the masks and the make-up that bring these icons to life. These guys work their asses off to haunt our dreams so sometimes it's nice to see them having a little fun on set.

Below is an image gallery for you folks to chew on and I made sure to put my favorite pic first because it seriously cracked my shit up. It's a shot of Robert Englund decked out in his Freddy gear while rocking out with a boombox—it really doesn't get much better than that! There are plenty of gems like this one below, so be sure to let us know which one is your favorite!
