NFC LockScreenOff Enabler

Allows you to keep NFC enabled when the screen is turned off and/or a the lockscreen, in addition to, of course, when the screen is on and the phone unlocked.

For Xposed. Thanks to Xposed, it should work on any ROM (I run it on an odexed stock ROM).

When installed (and the module activated in Xposed Installer and the phone restarted), you can run NFC LockScreenOff Enabler from your launcher and choose whether you want NFC to be activated when the screen of your phone is off or if you want it on when the lockscreen is being displayed (in addition to normal, unlocked usage of the phone, of course). This can be switched on the fly, the only time you have to restart is if you decide you only want NFC to be enabled when the phone is unlocked, as you have to disable the module in Xposed Installer for that.

Works perfect on a stock, non-flashed rom. Totally awesome. You should start your own thread on this because many people would like this I'm sure.

Thanks for testing! I've mentioned it here, which I imagine is the first place people will look if they want NFC enabled at the lock screen etc., and in the Xposed thread here, which is what people look at for mods - any more and I will feel like I'm spamming :)

I know what you mean, but this thread is in general, and your mod could definitely stand its place in "Original Android Development", just like the multiwindow Xposed mod. Btw thanks again I was waiting for this since the N2 launch.

Dont take offense please but this is a flashable zip which can not be installed on a stock rom without root I am assuming non flashed rom meams not rooted could be a wrong assumpti9n of course

So how did you install it?

Also site says 0 downloads? So where did you get it?

Just want to confirm if others have tried this or not.

Please dont take offense I always have a small healthy fear of unknown zip flashes

It's an app (although it may have a META-INF folder, notice the other files that are present) which requires the Xposed framework. For some the VillainROM website sends the file with a zip extension in which case just change it to "apk", and yes it can be installed on a stock ROM - believe me, I wouldn't run anything else except stock (well, except for CM)

Please dont take offense I always have a small healthy fear of unknown zip flashes

You don't have to trust me - you can build it yourself :)

My main concern was you said you tried it but all modules say 0 downloads so maybe that counter just does not work I just download them and they still say zero

So the modules are apk as well? I think this will all be easier when I get home to the computer :) dealing with normal zips is a pain on the phone

I love my note ii to death but I am amazed at people who do everything from there phones :)

Let me make it real simple for you.
Install this APK on your device, and grant root acces:
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=34609290&postcount=2
Then install this APK:
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/microdownloads/nfc-lockscreenoff-enabler.9/viewfile
And yes it does stay at 0 downloads, doesn't matter, it is correct.
Start the first app to enable the module. Then start the second app the change the settings to what you want, reboot, and your done!

Worked perfect for me on everything stock + root

Yeah, that's the beauty of Xposed - the original files in /system/framework and /system/app aren't actually modified so if you don't like a mod, just open up Xposed Installer and untick its enabled option

If a mod renders your phone unable to boot and you can't get to Xposed Installer, just reboot into CWM and flash the Xposed Disabler ZIP file that gets put on your phone by Tungstwenty's latest version of the installer

Already installed the first program and downloaded the modules

Akas there does not appear to be an obvious way to install the modules

I went to the modules tab but the do not appear there is no obvious install button and there is no sub menu either??

I thiugh it meant I had to unpack the modules but dont have an unzipper on the phone though I imagine there is ome in the play store

Yiur instructions imply I dont need one

So how do I get the zips into the exposed app?

I am running latest stock release rooted deodex rom at 240dpi if that matters

you have to rename the .zip file you downloaded to .apk and install it. you dont have to extract anything!

There are NO zips involved whatsoever, only 2 apk files that you have to launch via a file explorer. Can't get easier then that.

ok got it now (so much easier from a real screen :)

I missed the part that the zip were apk's renamed to zip (why not name them apk's ??? why name them zip's ??)

now it makes sense :)

delano. yes there are zips involved. the second file is not an apk its a zip as are ALL the modules.

for some reason the authors renamed the apk's to zip's (a point I had missed somewhere :) now that I know I need to rename the zip's to apk (the missing step) it all makes sense going to try the nfc one in a few minutes.

Could you link me to the zip you mentioned? I only found apk's for both:

1:
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=34609290&postcount=2
2:
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/microdownloads/nfc-lockscreenoff-enabler.9/viewfile

And you say all modules are zips? I am using this one as well:

Also an apk, just as the NFC one above.

Maybe there's something wrong with your computer that it sees apks as zips, that might be an option because they sometime have the same icon. But they're clearly apk files.

ok this is just bizzare

I went to http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/microdownloads/

and now they are apk's ???

I know they were zips I just renamed all of them from zip to apk ??? what gives?

I KNEW I was not crazy.

I just went back to that site on the phone and sure enough it downloaded ZIP's not APK's

is that the site dynamically adjusting what its sending see'ing a phone download or (more likely) is that my phone making them zips instead of apk's ?? the only reason I even suggest option one is that when I download an apk from xda it STAYS an apk and does not become a zip.

VERY strange.

also some of these create icon's which is really annoying if too many of them end up doing that (cluttering up things with icons for mods) not a big deal but figured to mention in case no one else mentioned it.

also the NFC mod does not work on my Note II

I installed the apk. it shows up in modules. (there is very little feedback or instruction in the program) I figured when it did nothing I needed to "check" the module to enable it. I did so it said changes effect on reboot. I rebooted. still no NFC screen off. (yes I opened the module and set it to screen off selection)

this is a US Sprint Note II since it seems to screen off mod works so far for all Note II's except the sprint one Grrrr :)

on my sprint note ii NO APK downloads. a ZIP downloads.

Props for the video! I was just joking but I really laughed out loud because you took it so seriously :p strange site that it sends zips to phones :p anyway, sucks that sprint version doesn't work, but maybe with a later update. Just checking, NFC is on in settings, correct?
Also on the icon thing, you can hide the icons in all launchers, even in stock!
Also, chrome is much better then the stock browser, FYI :p

that was a "pun" on a star trek episode not meant to be too serious (4 lights versus 5 lights)

define ON? is on "checked" ? if yes then yes its on.

the nfc module itself has two settings (lock screen and screen off I selected screen off)

I have a lot of "mods" installed already especially mods to nfc and to make aspects of the phone 240dpi compatible.

I will make a backup and try reflashing a bone stock rom and "see what happens" since my current attempted nfc mod might be conflicting with this programs nfc mod ?? (I found a modded nfc.apk that is supports to work screen off but it only works lock screen not screen off)

I know I can hide icons still annoying :) not a big deal though.

so far I have had no "want" from the stock browser so why replace it. I was thinking of going to chrome and then chrome on the computer but chrome on the computer is pretty nasty. my add on's for firefox don't work on chrome and many have no counterpoints in chrome and google for some strange reason flat out REFUSES to enable a proper bookmarks side bar and even goes to lengths to Disable mods that do enable it it seems. I can't use it without it. Very annoying.

without the pc side chrome browser I see no compelling reason to switch and take up more space and cpu cycles.

what would chrome on the note give me that I don't already get in the stock browser (I don't browse the web on the phone unless I have too its a pain even with a 5.5" display panel at 240dpi STILL too cramped :) guess I am just spoiled by 2550x1538 that I use at home.

I drooled over the Nexus 10 till I found out the flipping morons at google elected to NOT and in fact REFUSE to include a micro sd slot. its a god damned paperweight without more memory. what is the POINT of a 2560x1600 display panel without MEMORY to load all your content. If I am near wifi I am near my far superior laptop and have no need for a nexus 10. the POINT of a tablet (at least to me) is when I am NOT near that stuff IE need SPACE for movies tv magazines etc.. working on a low profile otg plug to add more memory :)
