German Air Ambulance Specialist and VVIP-Jet-Operator Flight-Ambulance-International (FAI) rent-a-jet AG has named today Al Bateen Executive Airport as its ideal stopover airport in the Middle East region. Through this agreement with the German operator, Al Bateen Executive Airport, operated by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) as the only dedicated business airport in the Middle East, will have two fully dedicated air ambulance Learjet 60 aircraft based at its facilities and served by German medical teams.

A fully-equipped air ambulance Learjet 60 can accommodate a medical team, one patient and two patient escorts, and has the capability of carrying critically ill patients between Abu Dhabi and anywhere in the world.

FAI selected Al Bateen Executive Airport as its Middle Eastern preferred stopover airport due to its ability to best serve increasing client demand from the region, the Far East and Asia.

Yousif Hassan Al Hammadi, General Manager, Al Bateen Executive Airport, said:

“With its world-class VIP services, 24 hour operational schedule and close proximity to leading medical facilities in the heart of Abu Dhabi, Al Bateen Executive Airport is the ideal stopover for FAI’s world-class medical service.  Al Bateen Executive Airport looks forward to continuing to work with FAI and other VIP partners, as they use ADAC’s dedicated executive airport to grow their businesses and expand their footprint in the Middle East.”

Established in 1986 and headquartered in Nuremburg, Germany, FAI is a global leader in medical evacuation and transport.  FAI also operates one of Europe’s largest fleets of business jets, and one of the world’s largest Learjet Bombardier fleets.  The Company also offers Aircraft Management and CAMO-Services to aircraft owners within the UAE.

Earlier this year, from 5th March to 7th March, Al Bateen Executive Airport hosted the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013, the region’s only general aviation exhibition.  The total value of sales at this year’s Air Expo reached in excess of AED three billion, and 13,000 visitors and over 160 exhibitors from local, regional and international companies, participating.
