You may know, earlier this year, one of the Drake Group employees David Noon was tragically killed in a car accident. His daughter Reanna was seriously injured in the accident too but is on the long road to recovery.

As a fundraiser for the Noon family, the Drake Shop auctioned on Ebay a Membreys T909 Rowan Truck plus some Membreys merchandise kindly donated by Craig. All proceeds were being donated to the Noon family.

Reanna came along to the Drake Shop last week to receive the cheque presented by Maggie Drake for the money raised from the sale. Also present was Ian who generously bought the model for $1,625.00.

Today let’s talk about dolly and low loader spares….

One of the most FAQ is how do I get my spares to stay on???

So, the first question we need to address is, why aren’t they on there in the first place?

Strangely, not everyone around the world treats your models with the same love and care as you, especially the dreaded Mr delivery driver. To ensure that your models will arrive in the best possible condition they are subjected to a stringent packaging testing at the factory which includes a drop test from 3 meters.

Test results indicated that there could be a potential problem of damaged to this area, so it was decided to leave them off the model for final fitment from the collector. Therefore, when you open your model you will find them stored separately in small plastic bags. One bag for the dolly and one bag for the trailer.

So, the next question is, which one fits where?

If you look on the inside of the spare wheel carriers, you will find three small letters on each. These letters identifies which one goes where.

The first letter indicates: D = Dolly or T= Trailer

The Second letter indicates: F= Front or R= Rear

The third letter indicates: L= Left or R= Right

So the million-dollar question is how do I get them to stay on?

• Best way is a drop of super glue. But that makes them a permanent fixture.
• You could also use a small piece of blue tack or something similar.
• I use a small drop of white wood glue. It takes a bit longer to dry, but is secure once cured and the best part is most white glues are soluble in water soluble, so a good soaking and you can remove them.
