Two From Field Hockey Receive All-Region Honors

PHILADELPHIA – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its 2018 All-Region teams and The University of Pennsylvania was represented by Paige Meily and Alexa Schneck in the Mid-Atlantic region.  
 
Schneck received second-team NFHCA All-Region honors for the second time in her career. She started all 17 games for Penn, playing in 1,080 total minutes and serving as one of the team's captains. Schneck posted a career high 10 goals and five assists this season and led the Ivy League with four game winning goals. She received her third All-Ivy selection in as many years and was named to the first-team for the first time in her career.  
 
Meily received her first NFHCA All-Region honors after being named to the second-team for her efforts this season. She played in every minute of Penn's 17 games this season and served as one of the team's captains. Meily scored one goal – her first for Penn  and tallied three assists on the season. She helped Penn earn six shutout victories on the season and notched a defensive save against No. 5 Princeton. Meily received her third consecutive All-Ivy honor after being named to the first-team at the end of the season.  
 
The Quakers closed out the season with a 9-8 record and 5-2 mark in the Ivy League to earn their third-straight third place finish.
